Hi Collin, please re visit and post your impressions of these once you have them. I have owned these for nearly 2 years now and they still make me smile every time I listen to them. And if you ordered the clear version then check out the size of those mid and bass BA drivers, you will quickly understand why there are only 3 of them. Happy listening

This is encouraging. I absolutely will circle back and post some impressions/comparisons. I've been on an IEM binge lately :)

Nice review mate. I'm so glad you like them and thanks for revisiting and posting the link.
I've been enjoying my iBasso IT03's recently, fantastic IEM that has been raved about and well received, and I often listen and wonder which I prefer from the two. Then I pop the Velvets back in my ears and the inane grin appears yet again, and I want to dance round the room.

Nice review! Velvet is where it all started for me, I might get one again in the future for sentimental reasons. It has a great sense of energy and dynamism that works excellently for many genres.

When I got my custom Noble K10s I didn't even for a second consider selling off my Velvets. They work so well for such a wide variety of genres that I always keep them on hand to pop in every once in a while.

Wow, K10s I guess should be in another league entirely but it's awesome to hear that the Velvets still have a place for you.

I'm going to look for some other cables for the Velvet. Specifically, I would like to find a 2-pin cable without memory wire. I did this on my Z5s and I've been way happier with them. I prefer to just have the soft cable around my ear rather than this plasticky stuff and I find that they stay in my ears just fine. I'm not running a marathon with them in :)

Any suggestions on a 2-pin soft cable? It was easy in MMCX because there are a lot of MMCX earphones that can be worn down, but 2-pin seems to be exclusively for over-ear wearing. Oh well, I'll hunt one down :)

I have been looking for a soft 2 pin cable without memory wire myself, but all the ones I've comes across cost a fortune, so if you find anything please let me know. And quick tip, these are 0.78mm and not 0.75mm which are more common. The .75's won't hold in very well.
And do not panic when you first try to remove their cable, it's in there pretty tight and needs some persuasion to come out.

You can buy Custom Art's cables and then cut the sheath, they're very comfy

I'm afraid the custom art cables are exactly the same cables that come supplied with the Velvets (and a lot of other IEMs it seems). Good cable just not the most attractive, and something a little 'different' would compliment these well.

Can you link to the ones that cost a fortune? :) Didn't realize there were two sizes of two-pin cables but now it's all coming back to me from my UE TF10 IEMs!

And typically the TF10's take the wrong .75mm version!
The general places that do .78 plug custom cables are the likes of Moon Audio, Treoo, Plus Sound Audio, Norne Audio, the list can go on.
I have found some cheap ones on AliExpress, can't link them as I use the app, but search '2016 New 2pin 4 Cell Single Crystal Copper Plated Silver Cable Earphone Upgrade Cable for Custom Earphone 0.78 PIN' . Problem is these come with a silicone ear guide and a straight plug, doh!!
If you have any luck then please let me know.....
