Ok - that explains the PM a little earlier ..... :)

Just FTR - I only got back from my trip around NZ (biz with US clients) on Saturday.  I've been trying to write the review since then.  Still hoping to post in the next 24 hours - then the units will be on their way to Igor.

Hi all

Here's the thread for posting impressions and reviews (this is the public one).  If you can - do what I've done - post in both the thread as well as making a review.  You can review the E11K as well - but you don't have to (I will when it gets back home in about 16 weeks).

Both tour groups should use the one thread.  If you want to secure a post now - feel free to do so (eg reserved for review post)

Thread ; http://www.head-fi.org/t/738365/fiio-x1-e11k-australasian-tour-2014-reviews-impressions-discussion

My review : http://www.head-fi.org/products/fiio-x1-ultraportable-hi-res-dap/reviews/11734

I'll package everything and it will be on the way to Igor tomorrow.  Igor - can you please confirm when you get it, when you send it off, and who you send it to.  If you are able - can we try and aim for max 4-5 days with the units.

With Group 1 - please don't use the stick on covers.  I know I'm being 'captain obvious' here - but it is my X1 and E11K - and I'd like them back as they've been sent out.

There is around 825 tracks on the X1 already.  Please add your own as it goes around - but leave room for others.  There are 3 special folders on it:

 - /0 playlists (includes my test tracks - but feel free to make your own as well)

 - /Formats Trial (has the album infidels by Dylan with tracks in multi formats for testing)

 - /Test Tones (fixed tones for anyone who wants to volume match

Enjoy it Group 1 - I'm going to really miss the little sucker over the next 5-6 weeks :triportsad:

Looking forward to your thoughts and impressions though.

Guess he'll let his crew know on this thread.

BTW Joe, can you check my review, and also let James know.  If there is anything needs correcting, let me know.

Any idea when you'll have a stacker kit for the E11K and X1?

Hi Brooko,

I would like to point out that with the version 1.03 firmware that you were playing with, the shortcut symbol for adding to playlists is the circled "+" sign. Going to the "Category" menu, playlists are represented by the list icon on the right of the heart icon. Multiple internal playlists are already supported smily_headphones1.gif

I was at the HKTDC trade show in Hong Kong with FiiO yesterday and they had stacking frames for the X1 as well as the X3. Apparently they've manufactured them, warehoused them and forgot to send the memo out to distributors about them for the moment wink.gif

I might have to play with that then.  So can we create an external playlist and have it added - or is this all internally, and song by song?

Hi Brooko,

Nope, I was referring to the fact that multiple internal playlists could be created and songs added to them (with the caveat that they can't be named as no good input method exists--they're called Playlist1, Playlist2 etc. and the player will renumber the playlists if you delete one in the middle). Externally created playlists continue to be excluded from the Category->Playlists menu (and will probably remain so unless the firmware can start writing to M3U playlists, which I doubt)

Best regards,
Joe
