Ultrasone New performance Series: 840, 860 & 880 (First post last update : 2014/12/07) - Page 8

I am really after a fun, detailed, spacious sounding can but also want the primes. The z7's, 880's, and Vibros will conquer a playlist.

@Dopaminer which has more bass quantity and impact, z7 or 880, or d2k(since you have one?)

is the 880 less bass than the mentioned.

I`ve just sold my d2k, and hadn`t listened to it for years, because i butchered the cable in a ill-conceived soldering experiment, so no comment.  I never really liked them anyway, they did nothing for me from day 1 until their demise.

Re  Z7 vs 880 bass, that`s an easy 2-part answer: The z7 has more bass quantity and, for me, the 880`s bass has more impact because it is better controlled.

Nice, 840 having at least as much bass as Pro 900 if not slightly more. :) The same user also thought it sounded more like an open headphone than closed as far as soundstaging goes (better than his DT990 Pro), interesting (I guess the exceptionally large inner circumference in the pads coupled with S-Logic Plus have something to do with it?). Clamps hard which is actually a pro to me as long as the fit is right. Also he preferred it over Ed 8 and Signature Pro so that's also sounds promissing.

Clamps hard but like I mentioned the headband has a `memory` section which can be bent outwards to accommodate HUGE heads or bent back for pin-heads (like mine).  Fit was EXCELLENT for me.  And yes, soundstage felt close to open `phones....

These sound very promising for me, especially the 840's. I love my Pro 2500 and Pro 900, some of my favorite headphones to date. I just don't understand why Ultra-sone isn't more popular here in the states. It seems they don't get the attention they deserve.

They are the perfect headphones for enjoying EDM, the best I've heard.... Bass and treble are just excellent.

Yeah excited to see how 840 fares, mine should be here be next wednesday. As much I wanted to measure 860/880 along with it, I'm pretty sure they are not for me so I'm saving mine and Thomann's hassle. ;) I guess Tyll or someone gets all soon..

Good, now I don't have to try and find a pair. ;)

Definitely looking forward to your impressions on how they stack up compared to the Signatures.

I'll first receive a 880 and a 860 for testing purpose. Brand new. I'll get them in the beginning of the next week . A pair of 840 will come later.  I'll take a lot of pics and post them here ;)

Yeah, it seems it's site issues.

I have to keep refreshing the page until I get new replies... pretty sure it has to be "ad" related...

Have you tried clearing cache & cookies? I started having issues a few days ago too but after clearing stuff in the browser it worked normal again.

I am on HeadFi from my mobile most of the time. No such problems here so far.
