how to run speakers through Fiio E09k

I have the Fiio e09k and am considering getting a pair of speakers. My question is whether I can run speakers with a built in amp or use passive speakers and how to hook each up to the E09k. Also, feel free to suggest speakers to consider. I am currently looking at the M Audio AV40s.
 
Any help is appreciated

You can run powered speakers out of the line out or pre out... A good set of studio monitors would work well. I'd suggest checking out a pair of Emotiva Airmotiv's

Agreed. A headphone amp is not meant to power passive speakers. You'll need a separate speaker amp if you want to run passive speakers.
