Hahaha.

Now @ZSenger must provide his A3 listening impressions (two line minimum) to compensate for the grief he's caused :p

Hmmm this is my first impressions done on head-fi , so might not be accurate with the terms used, or give a accurate impression/comparison  :/

I do not have a lengthy listen to A1,A2 so could not give a good comparison, Z5 was auditioned at a noisy enviroment , could not get a good listen to them. In my memory , almost months ago , i tried the H3 , and didn't like it due to it sounding congested to me , with the big bass it produces (if i remembered it correctly).

Overall i find

The XBA-A3 has punchy bass that does not veil the mids (on most cases) , laid back but clear sounding and detailed mids and  extended very well and detailed highs without sounding sibilant.(Only heard sibilant from some youtube videos, with harsh Ss , not sure if its the recording or...)

Comparing XBA-A3 to my daily iem , the ATH-IM70 (since i used it as my daily iem)

XBA-A3 (USING MUC-M12SM1) + medium size sony hybrids silicons

ATH-IM70 (Effect audio's Pearl V2 cable ) + UE silicon tips

( BOTH NOT STOCK CABLE )

Source : Sony A17/ F886, mostly 320mp3/ Flac format

In terms of bass , the XBA-A3 sounded more detailed , and more extended ,whereas the IM70 has a greater bass impact.

Both sounded clean without affecting the mids on most tracks i listened to.

In terms of mids , the XBA-A3 is more laid back compared , but remains clear and detailed not being too overwhelmed by the high and the bass. While the im70 mids, vocal sounded more forward but with less detail, imo, to my ears a more neutral with a slight bass emphasis iem / well-rounded iem ).

The highs is where the XBA-A3 sounded way better , being more detailed and extended compared.

In terms of soundstage, The A3 sounded bigger compared , but do not have the same 3D-ish soundstage of the im70.

Build quality is great but not the best in its price range (especially when compared to my 850s) , being mainly made out of plastic with two metal plates on the front and back. Light weight , solidly built.

Comparing fit /comfort (WITH FX-850 , since they fit quite similarly, and the way they protrude)

Due to its weird fit , like how i wear my JVC-FX850 ,over the ear, they pick up alot of wind noise .( Both protrudes out of my ear , one looks like two thumbdrives inserted to my ear , while the other looks like two wood blocks.)

The fit is better with the A3 , compared to fx850 , due to its lighter weight.

Comfort wise , the A3 is better than fx850 , and im70.

Was about to upload photo to compare sizes, build quality  , but realised i can't :/

Thats all for my impression/ mini comparision.

Hope i didn't mess up :)

My current iems are IM-02/IM70/ XBA-A3 / FX-850 , if you want me to compare them :o

Thanks for your impressions! I own the FX750 (and my source is the ZX1) so a direct comparison with FX850 would be quite interesting.

Also, what kind of music do you listen to? Anything with distortion..? Because for me that's the 750's weak point, but in that regard I've not yet been convinced by the Sony's with balanced armatures that I've heard (XBA-4 and XBA-H1). Yet somehow those Sony's keep calling me...

Need more time with my fx 850 , have not touch them in a month of so...D:

No distortion from my A17, but i do hear a slight hiss(quite noticeable on some songs though) from my walkman , which is normal , as it happens when i use my iems with it, without using an amp.

With an increase of volume above 17ish or so through with my a17 , the Shh can sound alittle sharp, on some tracks.

I listen to all kind of genres , except metal i think.

Listen to more jazz , pop and orchestra/instrumental .

add:I do prefer my JVC-FX850 /im02 for most vocals though .
