They should be shorter (Z5)

Rather, how do they compare to the IE800s? We will all see soon
Short comparison there.
You just gotta make sure you're only seen from the side - like every single promo shot with these and all the other 'phones from Sony's USB series.
Comparing this to ie800 makes sony look really stupid especially if ie800 outperforms this ogre
In short: Z5 compares pretty well with what is my view a reference in dynamic IEMs. Which is quite a feat in my book.
As much as I enjoy them, Z5 it is far from being accurate. Huge and overwhelming bass (may not be the "correct" sound but I must admit I like that a lot with electronic music), good mids although a bit recessed, surprisingly good highs - objectively speaking over-emphasised but Sony managed to tune them in such a way they are not too intrusive.
Overall very happy with Z5, these are keepers. That being said, IE800 is still a reference for me. Much more natural sounding, almost perfect balance, great bass that goes very low, mids to die for, out of this world highs. The only IEMs that I have where the parametric EQ is almost superfluous.
What are you calling an orge? Look at this beauty right here!
Umm, I'm talking about them earphones, k?
That is one pretty Japanese chick!
The design of these and other sony hybrids is actually attractive even if they stick out quite a bit, and they look quite comfortable too. Really interested how big the soundstage is on these...
