I just thought the really terrible opinions of the IE800 was odd or saying it was worse than the H3, cuz my experience with the IE800 has been jaw-dropping impressed, beyond that of IEMs in that price bracket by a good margin. That's all.

Well, several people have found that the ie800 really needs some power to shine. I find that as well and am currently enjoying it quite a bit. I'm certainly interested in the z5, though. Thanks to those who have provided impressions.

burnin isn't real? everything needs burnin.

the shower water needs burnin before it can get hot, my bed needs burnin before i get comfortable, my stomach needs burnin after i eat that pizza to feel full, my car needs burnin before the engine warms up, your muscles need burnin before you can lift heavy weights and the z5's need burnin too. it's all in the same guys. that's why i bring around my burnin app to the gym, when i eat and before i go to bed. listening to that sweeping white and pink noise combos is exactly what i need.

Well, I'm glad this isn't a leather shoe forum. Because until those break in, ouch!

Great subbass, no midbass, foward mids, dip in lower treble, and spike in upper treble with a huge drop after 10khz 😅...thats what the graph 📈 says 😌

Anyone here know the natural competitors to this XBA flagship?

In my head I can only think of ie800 and JH-Roxanne (universal version) and Shure 846 and JVC woodies.

The Woo Audio guy who loved the Z5 said he liked it better than the K3003, so that may be a competitive match up..

The Aurisonics ASG-2.5 is another competitor.

The tralucent 1plus2 and ref1 are others.

I'd like to see a comparison with the W40/60 as well. It's a nice time to be shopping for IEMs. Too bad the wallet feels otherwise.

I was about to say some of those are priced out of the Z5's range, but then I remembered he demoed them with the balanced cable and likely with the [$1,000] pha3.
