I am also curious about the new Momentums.

The CX300 was the first Sennheiser headphone that I found rather horrible, even for the fairly modest price. After that experience I stayed away from Sennheiser in-ears for years (until a friend convinced me to try the IE8, which I think is great).

pretty much the whole of sennheiser's budget range of IEMs needs a rework. Over here in singapore, the CX 300 is the exact same price as the Hifiman RE400 ($99) and the 300 loses out completely due to overwhelming muddy bass and lack of clarity.

you just cant compare cx300 with re-400 , no cx is that good , unless its the cx890 which is close but with a price tag of $200 .

sorry its not cx890 , i dont remember it but it was something like that with a higher no and was priced 200 dollars .

Let's hope this is more than marketing blabla. The CX300 had exactly the problems they want to address. Harsh highs and bloated bass.

Looks very interesting indeed If you improve the already competive CX line you could face the wave of chinese brands offering really good audio at bargaing bin prices (some not quite inexpensive but very good indeed)  such as Xiaomi Piston 2, Ostry KC06, HAVI B3 Pro (dual driver), TTPOD T1e (dual dynamic, you must hate its ie8 lookalike trasparent housing), MOE SS01(another dual dinamic set), VSONIC VSD1/3, TPEOS Popular and many others often found on the chinese and discovery threads here. I almost forgot the MOXPAD X3 and those detachable cables at USD$60 often described as an upgrade for the mee's M6 an already good competitor for the CX300.

Regarding the Momentum I just wish you improved the high/top-end extension/sparkle of the already impressive previous offering

This is the same marketing speak every company uses for their headphone lines: smooth, detailed, deep bass, blah blah blah. Yawn. Oh, and the iPhone and Galaxy smartphones have now become synonymous with smartphone in general apparently.

@suman134 i am only comparing them due to the exact same price.

When they say smooth highs i hope they dont mean smooth but complete lack of detail.

I think you will all be impressed with what's coming.

Also there are two versions of cx2.00 and cx5.00 ios and g series for smartphone.

Yes, it kind of sucks. I mean I can understand iPhone as it uses a proprietary OS, but why use the word Samsung instead of Android? That makes no sense at all, except to attract Samsung owners who are more in numbers than other brand owners?

Hi Phil, have you had a chance to try them? If yes, I'd be happy to hear your impressions. I'm thinking of buying CX.5 (best one of the new CX line I guess?).

Also, could you recommend a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable (2 or 3 metre) to connect Fidelio L2 to Hugo? The cable in the box is great but it's short. Wish they included a 3 metre cable.

No these have been a closely guarded secret and we are yet to hear them. We have however already placed orders for all of the upcoming 'phones to be launched.

Would this help at all?

CCS Custom 3.5mm Stereo Jack to 3.5mm Stereo Jack

I was eyeing this one actually. :) I wonder if it's better compared to a regular cable.

I thought the CX985 was pretty good and certainly a giant step in the right direction for the CX series, so I'm looking forward to impressions on the new models. Also looking forward to the new MOMENTUM phone (Is an in-ear in the works?) and the other new headphone line.

I am disappointed in the lack of MX series announcements, though. frown.gif
