Most of the time, that only works for people who don't have anything else other than canalphones. If you have multiple sets of headphone for different reasons, you're likely to always notice something lacking on the single driver canalphones.

There are headphones that produces both the richness of the bass note and the "whoomp whoomp"

Owners of UE and Sensaphonic canalphones will come along and explain how their canalphones can do what i just said they can't and will then try to persuade you to spend $500+ on something you used to spend a maximum of $15 on. (if you were feeling extravagent )
You don't even have to go quite that far, if you get a Shure E5c you'll see what type of bass multi-driver canalphones can produce.

1.
get your hands on the phones you are considering.

2. listen to them, in as quiet a setting as possible (may have to be the store...i understand) make sure it is the same song, on the same source.

3. come back and tell off whoever you now think is wrong.

REALLY people. bass resoponse is a strange beast. no one asked whether he is concerned more with faithful representation of his music or whether he want bumped ranges and purely visceral qualities.
