Yes, we will have modded and unmodded E-MU's there along with some very nice CDP's and I believe a couple of RME cards as well.

what's the date on that meet?

If you would, a comparison of the digital outs on various soundcards would be a boon.

Thanks,

Smackdown!

SUNDAY!
SUNDAY!
SUNDAY!

Ok, it's really Saturday, but that sounds better.

My Mini Me Music PC is running well now, so I'll be able to transport it around to be side by side with the big CDP's that probably won't get moved.

The RME PAD works perfectly in it. I might have just enough room to fit Iron_Dreamer's modded one in it if I keep the case cover off. Those blackgates on the back of the card, would probably stick out too much.

hmm...if it's in Portland, OR, I'll be there! If it's not...someone wanna buy me a plane ticket? Probably cheaper than paying for gas...

You don't need to wait for the meeting results,

RME > AP 24/96
emu > RME

I own all these cards already.

Ian, had a chance with the RME HDSP 9632?

I've got a fun idea of all y'all at the meet...I've done my darndest to encode 5 samples of music in 5 different formats....I wanna see if all you "audiophiles" with your mucho 'spensive gear at that meet can determine wich sample is wich. I have all of the encoded formats decoded back to .wav...sitting here on my HD. I can burn 'em to CD and mail 'em...or if someone has a couple gigs of ftpspace (1.95 to be exact) I can upload to.....

samples are encoded to wav, APS, APX, API, and flac

Zemo, nope. That card is too expensive and I don't have a use for an expensive card which would just be used for digital output.

minya, if you can afford Omega II, you can afford an emu

especially at that group buy price!
