SOLD: Project Ember Supercharged with warranty (4/2017) with $100 extra tubes
Will Ship To: Anywhere
Up for sale is my Project Ember SC in excellent condition. This is a supercharged model which allows you to run hotter 12V tubes like the 12BH7s. The Ember allows you to power portable headphones with high efficiency (including IEMS) all the way to the Hifiman HE6 and AKG K1000s. Maximum output is 2.4Wpc @ 64ohms in low resistance but with the output resistance on high, the power goes down to 500mW (check graph in pics for power output on your headphones). With the different set tubes you can go from a flat FR with a nice decay like the Tungsram; to a warm/luscious sound with excellent treble extension like the vintage Sylvania Red. Want the same warmth but a bit more mids? Throw on the vintage RCA BH7 and you’ve got the same characteristics as the Sylvania but with a nice forward mid (turns my HE4 from a slight V to a flatter response that mimics the HE500). This is where the Ember shines as it keeps transparency and won’t allow you to screw up tube rolling as much while being able to keep tube rolling sound changes very audible.
The warranty is transferable and is good until April of 2017. Stock tube has become microphonic so I threw that out. The Tungsram is very similar to the stock tube’s sound with better soundstage and decay. Other tubes are vintage RCA BH7 (70’s) and Sylvania BH7 (early 80s) as well as a new Mullard 12AX7. The vintage tubes tested within 2-3points on the left and right with both testing high (very good) scale. The LED color can be changed to any simple color or turned off, just let me now and I'll switch it to your preference.
Not looking for trades as I'm looking to thin the herd. Shipping will be $12 to USA and more for international (please ask). $12 for paypal fees or gifting accepted. INTL buyers must gift payments. If you have any questions feel free to ask. More pics can be taken in request. Thanks for looking!
