Improving sound quality playing from phone in car

My car doesn't have iDrive, which means there is no USB to connect to.

Even though phone calls can be attended & controlled with steering controls thr blue tooth , i cant play music thr blue tooth.

I am happy with the sound from car's CD player.  But  playing from phone  through auxiliary port sucks.

I am thinking i can connect to phone output to a USB powered dac , and DAC's output to car's auxilary port.

I need suggestions on which DAC to buy ,  if this is possible.?  Other option is to use a battery powered DAC.

I am considering  hifimeDIY Sabre DAC. Any others?

Anyway it looks like putting a USB DAC may not help..

At least as per this thread..

That is probably correct. I'd guess that the bad quality comes from the aux port and not your phone, so a DAC won't improve anything.

Just an update.

I bought a Fiio L11 Line out dock. It  has improved sound quality on first check from Iphone.
