Best IEM for Female Vocals under $200

Thread Starter

A few months ago in May, I dived into the higher end audio market with a purchase of the Fostex TH600/HP-A4 and I have loved the massive improvement of quality over all previous audio equipment I've owned. With my home audio sorted for now, I feel it is a good time to make the first upgrade to my mobile from my current which is just an old pair of Apple earbuds. Unfortunately I have a bit more of a limited budget and would like to try to find a pair of IEMs under $200.

A good majority of the music I listen to contains female vocals so a pair which shines in that area would be ideal. I've had friends toss out recommendations for Shure and Audio Technica but there are quite a few models within the price range and I'm open to other brands as well if they better fit what I'm looking for.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Rumiho

I'm a big fan of female vocals also.  Standout performer at a reasonable price (IMO) is the T-Peos Altone200.  Worth checking out.

PL-50 does super nice mids, my real suggestion though if you can find is the RE-262.  it has pretty much the best mids ever and it was absurdly low priced  oh also the brainwavz R3 as exceedingly lovely mids too.  its overal rather lighter than the liquidy 50 or 262.
