Opening the case does help a lot with cooling smily_headphones1.gif

I just now realized I posted the wrong one of your pictures. LOL

@nurr3

Just in case you're considering usign a dock, I just found the box that my dock came in - the brand is RND. Got it from Amazon. I also got the Caseology extra battery kit and so far I am not experiencing any of the complaints in the reviews, so I'm considering an Ibasso DX50 right now as it uses the same kind of battery (and I now have three), but I want to compare it to the Fiio X1 first.

Nah I knew which one it was anyway. Open case sucks in more dust though, unless the whole side panel was replaced with a filter. In any case I replaced the directed airflow Silverstone AP121's on the front with a pair of 1650rpm AF120s - the case is small enough that the extra airflow would just glide along the bottom and sides of the case that the moving intake air actually meets the point where the rad push fan is strongest at sucking in air. Unfortunately dropping the temp by 2deg came at the cost of 20dbs of noise. Not really annoying though - when I have headphones on I barely hear it.
