Hello, I have a pair of Astro A40's which I use for gaming with the mixamp, it came with this cable http://www.ncix.com/detail/startech-com-6ft-toslink-to-mini-45-48776.htm?gclid=CIz0ntLO7r8CFSpp7Aod4WoAoQ I want to plug in the mixamp into my Asus Xonar Phoebus sound card, but it doesn't have a square port that the cable requires (which i think is a Toslink cable) but it has a SPIDF port and came with an adapter that fits over the TOSLINK end of the mixamp cable, the adapter looks like the mini TOSLINK at the other end of the cable, I plugged this into the SPIDF port on the sound card, just because the port glowed red the same colour as the mini TOSLINK, have I done this right? If not what do I do?

If any S/PDIF (optical or coaxial) port has light, is can pass optical S/PDIF.
So yea plug the 3.5mm (mini-toslink) plug into the light up dual (optical & coaxial) function port on the Phoebus.
