Question on Recabling DUNU DN-1000

Hello Head-Fi,

TLDR: Smallest/lightest connection for connectors directly under DN1K to custom cable. and would it degrade sound quality.

Longgggggggg time lurker here. I bought a set of DUNU DN-1000 to go with my Sennheiser HD558's since at work IEM's are more acceptable. Well yesterday my puppy got on the bed and got a hold of my DN1K's and chewed quite a few areas of the cord but left me with an inch or 2 to work with on each bud and I was able to Temporarily (scotch tape, rat shack plug, speaker cable and pigtail) a new wire to it. I plan to re-cable soon when I get time/money and I was wondering if I could solder a mono 1/8" female jack under each monitor and make a custom cable with 2 mono plugs after the Y split. would this work any suggestions on a different lightweight shallow connection I could use? When i bought the IEM's a removeable cable was almost set in stone but last second i sprung for the DN1K's.

Thanks for your time if you read it.... if not you are a lazy bastage..... jk

First, remove your puppy's teeth and just give him smoothies.

Seems this subject is being discussed in the DN-100 thread -
