DAC/Amp around $1000 for Beyer T1

Hi All. Im totally new to blogging on Head-Fi, or much so anywhere else for that matter. Though I have gone through tons of Head-fi pages to enhance my knowledge of Audiophilia.

I plan to venture into 'real music' in the coming months, and have shortlisted Beyer's T1 for my first real audiophile headphones. From all I could gather, they seem to be the best in their price range for Alternative Rock, Trance & a bit of Hip Hop. Any suggestions for a better 'one size fits all' headphones would be welcomed (focus being on Alt. Rock).

Also, I can afford a $1000-odd amp to couple with them. I'll be glad if I can cough up a real nice DAC/Amp combo (by combo I mean somethin like WA7 fireflies) that really suits my music preferences. For such a setup, should I be going for an SS or tube? I know I need to push the budget up, but something tells me I can manage a good setup around this price range with your suggestions.

Thanks in advance....

Suggest that you join the discussion in one of threads focusing on the T1.  You will find them in the Summit-Fi section of the forum or the Equipment Forums--Full Sized Headphones sub-section.

The Beyer Dynamic A1 Headphone Amplifier (no DAC), which was designed for the T1 certianly works well with it (and the DT 880).

I have the T1 at home just now and love them - they pair really nicely with a Just-Audio amp I have, the uHA-120-Ds.
