I think FiiO discontinued those and replaced it with this one. Only available in The Asian markets from what I've seen.

From google's poor translation, it looks like this cable will allow volume control from player. That would be very cool.

I tried that and basicly you cant flash the wrong flash it wont let you :)
So I either try modify it or get used to Japanese

I believe someone measured it early in the thread if you know search-fu.  Pretty low afaik.

around 0.4V (a little less on the euro version). and I don't remember for sure but somewhere around 0.25V from the line out I believe.

I am using z5 with pha-3 in balanced mode with the balanced cable that was included with the z5.
The sound was something I never heard even after owning Sony other pha amps in unbalanced mode. It got more spacious and for a minute I thought I was in audio heaven. Sound was even cleaner and the bass was tamed.
Now I can connect the pha3 with my home setup via. Optical and get blown away again.
Even the cheaper EX300/500 dynamic items sound cleaner and meaner via unbalanced.
I am thinking of making the cheaper models unbalanced as I feel dynamic is more powerful than the hybrids.

That's right - Currawong measured 0.245V rms from the A17 line out - basically, one eighth to one fourth the power other DACs can output (1.0 to 2.0V rms.)

You'e better off driving an external amp with the A17's headphone out (or getting the USB emulation cable for digital out to an external DAC/amp.

No, you're probably thinking of the ZX 1 or ZX2 with android?

No, was looking specifically for this one, since the zx1 and 2 are huge bricks...looking for a another player than my ak120
Thanks

Best bet for Spotify is probably something with android or ios, unfortunately most of those seem to be phone-sized touchscreen devices so basically not much smaller than ak120.
