The SPM & Red Dawn are much less expensive.

| Here's what I think of them: First of all, physically they're a lot more flexible than the Signal Cable Analog IIs that I've been using. This was a blessing because the Analog IIs where a little annoying to manage in tight spots. The Silvers are so loose you can pretty much tie them in a knot. Intially, I had a real problem with the sound of the Silvers. The highs were way too splashy and the bass was not as tight and the Analog IIs. What did impress me was how clean the mids and treble were. I finally figured out what people meant when they say 'Each instrument had it's own space'. I thought I'd experienced this when I first got my 650s but the Silvers take it to a whole 'nother level ! It was the cleanest presentation I've ever heard. It reminded me of the sound that I heard from Hirsch's HE60's. I emailed Frank at Signal to tell him that I really like the Silvers but the Splashy highs were unbearable. It was literally the first time that I had ever considered my 650s to sound bright (which is damn near impossible). He suggested that I hold on to them a little longer and give the Silvers time to burn-in a little more. Well after another week of listening I can proudly say, I totally love these cables. The sound has smoothed out a lot but still provides all of the detail and seperation that blew me away from the start. The bass has also shaped up and I think the extension goes slightly lower than the Analog IIs. No my friend, these cables are not going back. EVER! |
