My Hugo Portable set Up :

Source : IPhone 5s
Dac / Amp : Chord Hugo
Iem: Sony EX 1000 Japan Edition
Cable : DIY Micro USB to Lightning

Sound Quality

Sony EX 1000 is as well known Iems since 2010 , but The Sound Quality is still exist until Now
The difficult Think to handle My Sony EX 1000 is The midrange has sibilance
With Hugo set Up above Sibilance is not so much like With Other set Up

High : sound so smooth woth a Lot OF detail and clarity
Mid : sweet and natural and intimate With Slightly sibilance , For Me doesnt disturb My audio listening
Bass : It is The setting Point from EX 1000 very Deep and very Good impact and very Good Speed bass and
Very Good detail
Separation : very Good
Soundstage : is Wide wnd has very Good Depth

Overal i can use This set Up For on The Go and never get fatigue to My Ears For Long listening

IMO

Bingo. Who would have thought an optical equipment manufacturer in Canada that have nothing to do with audio would build the best interconnect I ever purchased.

I recently purchased a NAS, it is a synology DS214SE which has a great inbuilt amp that is able to stream all my music into WAV directly to my ipod which make it great when I want to use HUGO but problem is that it downsamples everything to 16/44.1. Is there an app that allows native playback for such files? thanks

I am confused about your expanination of the nas.
It has no amp inside.
How are you using the nas with the Hugo please explain
Al

Not sure about iOS but with android I can access the actual files on my NAS and play with the UAPP app via usb to Hugo without needing the NAS to convert anything. (.dsf files not yet supported) I suppose if you iOS music player app can access network shares via smb or any other protocols you won't need the NAS to "stream" them for you.

NAS works without an issue if I was to use my MAC but if I was to use the ipod/ipad it will restrict it to 16/44.1 wav which the NAS does using its own CPU. I think iOS8 might be dealing with this.

I am using ipod touch to access the files inside the NAS using the app supplied by synology (DS audio).

The cable looks awesome but seems to short for mobile use for me. I use the cck and a USB flat cable. I can just use the I phone as a controller

Just picked up a Hugo and am putting it through its paces now.

I have the new chassis.

A questions for current owners:

- When I try and use the included USB to micro-USB cable to connect my Macbook Pro to the Hugo, the connection to the mac is REALLY tight. I had forced it in halfway when I decided not to continue further and risk damaging my computer. Did anyone else experience this? Edit: It is also very tight going into the Hugo itself.

Yep same here - On my MacBook Pro Retina. The Stock USB cable plug was sitting way too tight. I'd suggest you get a better USB > Micro USB cable.

There are many available now.
