I would like to know which is better MDR Z7 or XBA Z5 , without using any amplifier, cable change etc directly connecting to my present Walkman A25 ( or A35 / ZX 100 in future )

Better implies a one-dimensional way of comparing sound...

They're just different...

Z5 is not as diffuse or wide as the Z7, and therefore you can say it's tighter. Albeit both are tuned with the same bass-emphasis "Feel the Air" philosophy.

Yikes!
Well, better to be grounded beforehand.
Safety first.
You can enjoy your Z7 's for years to come.
Hang in there, brother!
