Been doing a lot of research on the E18 and the Leckerton. As well as many other DAC AMP combos compatible with the S3. I've seen a few reviews of people noticing hiss with the E18. But others that apparently don't notice it at all and think its the greatest thing in the price range. In your experience, have you noticed anything of the sort with the E18? I'm leaning towards the leckerton now in terms of sound performance. But as far as all the little additions that the E18 has the decision is tough. Especially considering the difference in price between the two. Still unsure though. If the E18 has hiss, and the leckerton outperforms it in all aspects then the deal is off for the Fiio. Could you elaborate on the differences you experienced?

I have not heard the E18, but I would be surprised if the E18 would have hiss with your M50s. Typically, hiss is only a problem with better headphone amps with higher sensitivity IEMs. Be sure that you are looking at which headphones seem to have hiss issues.

As cel4145 mentioned, there is no way that E18 will hiss with M50. It does, however, it does hiss with SE846, which is a super sensitive IEM. Leckertons, on the other hand, does not hiss with IEMs. In terms of almost all sonic aspects, Leckertons outperforms Fiio.

Any thoughts on the D42? All threads I've been involved with fail to respond.
