50% Gaming, 50% Music Headphones ~100$

Hello, Head-Fi'ers!

A week ago i asked you for headphone recommendation, and i want to say thank you for your help and support. I ended up choosing the Sennheiser HD 558. But i faced another problem. I live in Lithuania (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithuania) and i am ready to buy headphones from Germany or UK using eBay ir Amazon stores. And i found that many headphones are overpriced sadly. Those Sennheisers i want cost 129€ (174$) in Germany and £122 (208$) in UK Amazons :(.

So i ask you for an advice. What headphones should i buy for around 100$ here from Germany or UK or somewhere else maybe? Maybe others are not as overpriced as those Sennheisers? I need them to play music in a decent quality while having decent soundstage.

Thanks!

Hi fluidas,

If you are trying to buy a product from amazon (but you can look around for other interesting deals), always try to see on which this is the cheapest. Amazon.fr, .de, .es, .co.uk, .it always have different prices AND different promotions. Prices fluctuate ALL the time (sometimes you have 3 different prices on amazon.insertcountry in 1 hour).

For example, ~ 30€ range between it, es, de and fr

http://www.amazon.de/Sennheiser-HD-558-Stereo-Kopfhörer-schwarz/dp/B004FEEY9A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405699647&sr=8-1&keywords=sennheiser+558

Hope this helps.

Try to find other specialized sites (in Lithuania or else) where you can have the models you are looking for. Sometimes they may be cheaper or do a short-time sale (Stocks too big, new model, sales period ...)

Sellers on eBay that ship from China to all over the world.

I am not sure how Lithuanian law's work but its more than likely you have to pay tax if you order from outside of EU. The price from US tend to be the same after Tax and customs fees.

Also Amazon does not pay tax properly. So even if you order from Amazon.UK you have to pay taxes. Not sure about Amazon.DE but i would imagine its the same.

But i have to say that all Sennheiser products are over priced at least in Europe. The Brand costs here.

You are right, we have to pay taxes for buying stuff out of EU. Thats one of the reasons why i dont want to buy headphones from US. And another reason is how much time i have to wait for them. I am searching for the best cost of HD 558 in EU but they are so overpriced...
