Nope. Sorry. But if these have emphasized bass, I'll at least be able to tell you that. And certainly I can offer brief impressions of how they compare to some of my other headphones, including K550 and K612 Pro.

Cool beans.  The HP100 is pretty neutral with emphasized sub-bass.  It should be pretty easy to tell if it's gone north of neutral.

And that's why I mentioned the K612 and K550. The K550 is fairly neutral in bass, and the K612 has a little bit of bass emphasis.

I'm also hoping that there is a frequency response graph on the box biggrin.gif

Don't get too excited. If the frequency response curve on the box is the same as the HP100--or a signature I wouldn't like--I'm sending it back without opening it so Amazon doesn't get too pissed at me (I've returned quite a few headphones).

There's a picture here in this Aliexpress listening for it (see pictures top left). If you view the box picture, you can tell there is a frequency response chart on the side, but too small see anything.

True, but the actual description on the front of the box seems different, though... which is where my assumption of the enhanced bass came from...

HP200 box for kicks

Now, I don't pay too much to marketing on headphone's boxes, but they seem accurate enough after hearing the HP100 and HP200.

Pics of the HP100 and  HP200 graphs on their boxes... (notice they have the exact same description, there, however)

Yeah. I saw another website that had a description of them as being bassy phones. I suspect that they will be. Just hope not too much so. I'm really hoping that they are thinking enhanced bass in the way that AKG does in the Q/K7xx series over the more neutral phones.

Also, I hope that they didn't just change the Q dramatically so that they have a huge upper midbass hump and then roll off fast in the sub bass. If I had my choice, I'd like the little extra bass of the M50s or the DT770s. Not super heavy, but some decent extra bass presence.

I think perceived frequency response could be slightly different, but certainly they are good for a ballpark of the sound. And definitely, I would trust their plots for making relative comparisons between their phones for estimating sound differences. So if they look like they'll be uber bassy, I might not open them.

I will be sure to post pics of the box right away on Thursday afternoon/evening even if I don't have time to listen to them enough to offer any significant impressions. I generally like headphones to burn in for a couple of hours before taking any impressions--I tend to think burn in is exponential, if not logarithmic, with the most dramatic change happening on many headphone in the first hour or so of play. So I usually wait a little before beginning to think about how they sound.

Mmm, that sub-bass extension on the 100!!  I too hope the 150 is just slightly more bass without being in-your-face about it.  If so, I might just have to upgrade!

Sub-bass extension is one of SoundMAGIC's strengths with their full sized cans. Even the HP200, with its linear sound, extends deep (but without the boost of its HP100 counterpart). So, I highly doubt they went away from it with the HP150. I'm expecting a borderline basshead kind of bass, like that of the SRH150 and Fidelio X1. That's what I'm hoping for, at least, because if so, these just might end up being my on the go portables in the future.

Hello everyone, I'm a longtime lurker(first post) and have been researching the hp100 for a long time. I found a response graph for the hp150 on a chinese soundmagic site. Sadly, It's exactly the same as the one on the Hp100 box. Here's the link: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsoundmagic%2Bhp150%26rlz%3D1C1CHHJ_enUS573US573%26espv%3D2%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D899&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=zh-CN&u=http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm%3Fid%3D39798258404%26tbpm%3D3&usg=ALkJrhgOtzMU5W9eMBTViuSPvCksNwwRHA

Hey dakanao, do you want to revamp the title and opening (first) post a little so that this is an impressions thread for the HP150? Or should I start a separate one tomorrow? I'm game for posting pictures and impressions here smily_headphones1.gif

I think you could be entitled to start the "impressions" thread since you were the first to buy them.

Then again, dak was the first to discover them smily_headphones1.gif

Or, if dakanao isn't interested in doing it, since you are more excited than me about it, you could do it wink.gif
