same pads different driver position, anyway this is what i,m running with at moment.
G- cush with foam mod.
turns a great pair of headphones into legends .
my headphones are the rs1i model with the transition stage red E drivers, red transducer covers 50mm drivers in protruding position.
I find this mod keeps the amazing upfront mids and highs as you get as standard and adds spine jarring mid bass , with huge sound stage.
pretty much like the gs1000i but the mids are way better.

my gs1000i where well and truly beat hence sold ,
well worth the stupid price for a bit of foam for the pads.

had these pads on in normal position , which put the driver way too far my ear.
sound stage city but rubbish mids which grado are known for.
moved the pads back on the cup to get the driver a few millimetre closer to ear to get the mids back.
this left the wood showing near plastic driver housing, which i found caused a little ringing in the ultra highs so the small foam ring was inserted to great effect, i do agree its not a looker but as they say you don,t look at the mantlepiece when your poking the fire.

You say, ''transition stage'', I say, ''Frankenstein''.

The way I see it, headphones don't have to look pretty. If they sound good to you, it's all that matters.
