Any recommendations for bass-heavy genres?

Hey, I've been lurking on head-fi for a while and just ordered a pair of V-Moda M-100 Crossfades. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on better headphones for Rap and EDM. I love my V-Modas, but I want to see what else is better in the <$500 price range.

IMO, denons are the only other brand you should consider since the m100's are really one of the best there is at that price range. There's also ultrasones, but their treble kinda sucks. (too bright).

I'm not much of a bass head, so i'm sure someone else can give you a better answer.

Have you considered open headphones? You'll get a bigger soundstage, which is a plus. For instance, the Phillips X1.

Or the Beyer DT 990 Pro or Premium Version.

My preference was Open Headphones, but I must have not looked hard enough. I couldn't seem to find any well-reviewed ones in my price point. I'll surely add those to my list though. Thanks!
