Denon AH-D600 vs. Shure SRH840

Hello,

I want to buy new Headphones. The Challenge? Closed back and wide stage for a cheap price.

I want a little V-Shaped Headphones, maybe more bass boosted Headphones. After long searching on Head-Fi i found 2 Headphones, which i really prefer to buy. The Denon AH-D600 or the Shure SRH840.

Very Important aspects for me are a huge Sound Stage (i know it's a challenger for closed Back Phones), clear Sound, a nice Bass and a "Wow"-Effect hearing music.

I am hearing only lossless formats (mostly CD-Quality, but sometimes 192khz/24Bit Music).

To my music genre:

Deep House /chilled House(Electro)

Electronic Dance Music

Some Hip-Hop

but I also lie to hear sometimes Classic and a bit Jazz

and a bit from every genre

I really enjoy to hear Binaural Tracks (thats why i want the sound stage)

Can Somebody compare the Headphones? I read many about both of them. Both seems to be really nice, but there is no comparision i found.

The shure srh 840 are pretty neutral so it may not be what you are looking for. Theres also the yamaha pro 500 if you want something fun sounding.

Your description of what you are looking for IS the AH-D600.

Run and get it especially if you score a deal for under $250 USD.

I had previously owned the SRH-840 and it is a very good headphone. Nice midrange, warm sounding. Very comfortable but not as comfy as the D600.

The 840 is pretty good for monitoring in a studio and even DJ work. I also used the 840 for gaming and it great for that purpose. The d600 is as well, and it is technically superior to the Shure in most respects. It has a much larger sense of space, depth and better bass reproduction.

It is awesome for the genres you listed and you will probably love them.

Read some more impressions I have of them here http://www.head-fi.org/t/725361/hello-denon-d600-fostex-th600#post_10688987

Oh and for binaural soundscapes check out http://www.naturespace.com/ the app is free and the purchased seamless loops are even better quality than the free samples.

To the App of naturesound:

I use a FiiO X3 = no Apps.

But I have some Tracks (192/24Bit Binaural) like some Chesky's, which is much better than the MP3s of naturesound.

And thank you for the nice answer. It really helped me alot for now.
