Audio Technica ATH-ANC70 vs ATH-ANC7b headphones.

Hi all,

I am in the market looking for some budget, fair quality active noise cancelling headphones. I know that they obviously compromise sound quality, however I travel alot and it would be so helpful to reduce the background ambient noise I constantly experience.

Despite being the best on the market, the bose qc15s are way out of my price range, which lead me to audio technica. I have been seeing and reading positive reviews on both the ATH-ANC70 s and the ATH-ANC7b s. I would be SO grateful if (preferably someone with experience with the two) could answer the following questions:

- Which has the better Audio Quality?

- Which has the better passive and active noise cancellation

- What makes the price tag vary?

Thank you for your time :)

The mic/volume controls. If you need that then go with the ATH-ANC70
Headphones are bulky for me so I don't like to carry them around. Some people like me prefer IEMs which can block out more noise and fit nicely in your pockets.

Thanks but is there any sound quality difference/noise cancellation difference you know of?

They both should be similar.
ATH-ANC7b is much popular and cheaper. Since budget seems to be an issue you should get the ATH-ANC7b. Not much point in getting the other one unless you like the design.

For what I see it is the other case, 70 seems cheaper and has much less sound leakage...

You're using it for flights right? Unless you have a small head and for whatever reason the airplane doesn't make any noise then the noise leakage is minor. Someone has to put their head next to you to hear your music on a flight. Remember the reason why you want ANC headphones to start with is to block noise, meaning there will be noise to drown out your music.
