iPod 5.5 Hard Drive replacement questions

Hey Guys,

Im going to be replacing my hard drive in my iPod 5.5 30gb. Im interested in getting the best battery life. Im looking at getting a super talent ZT2 or doing the Zif to SD adaptor. I only use 320kb songs so I don't think speed is really my issue here. The SD adaptor with a SD card is about half the price. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Looks like CF cards fare a bit better vs SD, and significantly better vs hdd. I bought the CF adaptor from his store, and use a 266x, 64 GB transcend CF card. Very happy with the mod.

That's for the reply. I bought a generic cf adaptor off amazon and a Kingston 64gb. I love the new speed and battery life. What I've noticed is that the sound quality has changed. It seems a bit more analog. Idk if it's the cf adaptor or my fiio e1 is going bad. Thoughts?

I haven't noticed any change in sound. Are you noticing the change via headphone out also?

Some people reported 'hissing', on the main thread, I would check there.

My headphone out doesn't work. I only use lod. I think I'm going to buy the adaptor from Tarkan for safe measure.
