And here is some marketing material from TDS:
True Dimensional Sound, Inc. has been offering a line of harmonic enhancement products to the public to improve the audio quality of home and car stereo systems since 1997. Utilizing the TDS Passive Harmonic Enhancement (HE) Technology, the most popular of those products was the TDS Passive Audiophile.
The TDS Passive Audiophile is recognized as a "Hi Fidelity" device and has been favorably reviewed in numerous audiophile publications including SoundStage!, StereoTimes and Stereophile magazine. It has also won several coveted awards over the past few years such as the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Innovations Award in '98 and '99 and was one of only four technologies worldwide chosen by Discover Magazine for their prestigious 1998 Technological Innovation Awards for Sound. The TDS WiredTM cable line utilizes the same TDS Passive HE Technology and emulates the TDS Audiophile. The TDS Audiophile is still available for home and car stereo use as described below.
Passive Audiophile: Dual (2) mono channels with two inductive circuits per channel. One (1) toggle bypass switch. Four (4) high integrity gold plated brass RCA jacks. Black powder coat finish. Dimensions: 7"(W) x 2"(H) x 7"(L). Audiophile grade (2) channel product designed for audio systems with high degrees of sensitivity provides MAXIMUM harmonic enhancement.
