Help with Headphone recommendations [closed, neutral sound, preferably detailed, no or little bass emphasis, sub $200 but willing to go $250]]

Thread Starter

Thanks for the help in advance.

I am looking for a set of affordable headphones that will be driven by my phone or laptop/macbook outside, but I do have the Fiio E17 as a resort.

I need a closed headphone to prevent sound leakage, and prefer listening to neutral/detailed sounds. If possible I like to be able to hear extreme highs and lows without emphasis on either (so no base boost or anything) while still being able to clearly distinguish the mids. I prefer a larger soundstage if possible in closed headphones. Finally, over-ears are preferred but on-ears are okay as well.

Currently, I have the Beyerdynamic DT1350, Custom One Pro and the Shure SRH440/840 in mind but open to any other recommendations as well.

As for price, optimally under $200 but I am willing to pay ~$250 if for significant improvements in sound neutrality and detail.

Used NAD VISO HP50 or used PSB M4U 1.

If you had a larger budget, the Sony MDR 7520.

DT250-250?

You will need to use the amp, though....
