Help! Hissing Hell

Just received my new DX50. My computer wouldn't let me load drivers, but then suddenly recognised the device. I then had problems loading the latest firmware, but that's on now too. I can even drag and drop music files onto the device. The files show up on the internal directory. The only problem is they won't play. Just a hissing sound or strange noise like data being transferred. Can anyone help?

Are you sure you are using the HO on the bottom of the player and not the coax out on the top?

You most likely are plugged into the coax out, not the bottom of the player for the headphone out socket.

The headphones were in the right connector. I deleted the firmware update, re-installed and then it seemed to work fine. Thanks for the replies.
