Is the Schiit Loki DAC worth the extra $50?

It's not a traditional dac, it only does dsd conversions. you'll still need a dac

E: Our maybe you don't. hmm, have to look more into it.

Best regards

+1

I would also recommend the Stoner Acoustics ud110 if you want to save a few bucks. I can't tell the difference blind a/b, it with the Modi.

No, Modi is good to go.

Modi doesn't do dsd.

E: Ok, you can use the Loki as a dac as long as you get the computer to convert everything to dsd first. That limits you to whatever you can play from jriver or foobar. things like spotify and web browsers won't play a thing.
