Hi everybody, I broke my vsonic GR06s last week and I've been looking for a decent headphone I can use at home I've narrowed down my list to

Koss Portapro
Sony Mdr v55
Sony Mdr v6
Akg K451
Creative Aurvana Live
Grado SR60i
But I can't decide between these ones. I mostly listen to rock music and occasional pop. What would you recommend for me to get. If you have other recommendations I'd consider them as well. Thanks for helping.

MDR-V6 is only $55 at the moment on Amazon, lowest price in a couple of years. Very good price performance value.

I'll also recommend the NVX XPT100 for $80: http://www.amazon.com/NVX-Over-Ear-Headphones-ComfortMax-Cushions/dp/B0093PVTPS/

Same cups and drivers (same sound) as the Fischer FA-003 and Brainwavz HM5

One manufacturer makes them and they are rebranded. Note that the HM5 and FA-003 were generally selling for around $125 or more when you read their discussion, so $80 for the same headphone is quite a deal smily_headphones1.gif

Grados are nice though a little too bright at times. The Sony V6 would get my vote. I owned a set for 10 years and recently sold them off to a friend. They work today just as good as the day I bought them but actually they sound better. I had hundreds of hours on them. The only thing I did to them was replace the ear pads with Beyerdynamic EDT 250 Velour Pads. Made a difference in comfort and even sound. The cans are a little bright but not nearly as much as the grados. They lack hard hitting bass but have a nice punch to them. They sound fantastic especially for the price. This can has been made since the 80's. There is a reason they are still being made today. They Fing rock.

I only sold them because I have so many sets of cans (I don't list them all in sig or profile) that my Wife was starting to complain.

Ok I want MDRV6s now. It I can't find them at amazon. The ones I found are all used or refurbished. And I can't find FA-003 either.

Well, they must have sold out of the V6 because of the sale.

You want the NVX XPT100 instead of the FA-003 (reread my post).

Yes i want them I was confused. If only shipping wasn't so expensive(45$) I still think of buying them though. They look really nice to me.

for the NVX try this website: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_46586_NVX-Audio-XPT100.html the shipping might be less, it depends on where you live
