I need help looking for budget IEMs !! (Budget <$100)

Thread Starter

Hello everyone I need your recommendations for a good pair of IEMs !

I'm new here and I'm definitely not an audiophile.

I don't know enough about headphones to understand the more technical terms but I'll try my best to express what I'm looking for :D I think the main thing I'd love to have in a pair of headphone is clarity. Tight and controlled bass that is not overwhelming is a nice bonus. :D

     My budget is around <$100

These are some of the songs that I listen to everyday:

Keane - Nothing In My Way

    Lily Allen - Littlest Things

I also listen to some movie OSTs (Game of Thrones, Batman, etc...)

I've been looking at the Steelseries Flux In-Ear http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-In-Ear-Headset-Gaming-Music/dp/B00BHSTXSY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404009091&sr=8-1&keywords=steelseries+flux     they seem to be getting lots of praises !

Thank You In Advance ! :D

First of all, I would recommend avoiding SteelSeries. I love them for their gaming peripherals, but its hard for me to buy a product that doesn't even advertise playing over 10khz (Still quite in the audible range. I own the Hifiman Re-400, which are just under 100 but have once of the most balanced signatures I have ever heard. If you don't value neutrality or want a slightly lower price I would look at the likes of Creative's Aurvana 3. An extremely helpful guide would be this one: Jokers Muli- IEM Thread. That way you can get advice from someone who has basically heard it all.

Hah.

BTW, the 10khz thing is for the microphone.

From Joker's reviews:

Value (10/10) – The SteelSeries Flux In-Ear headset is one of the very best mid-range earphones I’ve heard to date, delivering fantastic sound quality per dollar with  punchy, extended bass, good treble energy, and excellent clarity. SteelSeries’ freshman effort beats many higher-priced products from brands that have had years to refine their in-ear offerings, making its performance all the more impressive. The only shortcoming is the cable, which could use better strain relief and tends to be noisy when the earphones are worn cord-down, but it’s a small caveat on what is undoubtedly one of the best-performing earphones in its class.

This is one of those times I could see the look on your face.... A company like steelseries having an audiophile grade product... I was shocked myself :)

My bad. I was talking off of a personal bias. I have heard some BAD steelseries stuff. I guess this is what happens when one recommends when one is far too tired to check. Oh well, I gave an opinion on something I owned. At least I didn't claim it to be a bad IEM without hearing it, as some here might do...

Havi B Pro, Ostry KC06, and Zero Audio Tenore Carbo are some IEMs you might look into smily_headphones1.gif
