-The Discovery of the New Ivery IS-1 (or Liberty 1’s) -Believe the hype!

Have you ever heard of these? They go by the name of "Ivery IS-1" (or Liberty 1). They're making waves here in China, so I happened to buy one for just 40 RMB (around $6 US dollars). According to Joker's recommendation I was out shopping for the VSONIC VSD1S and that's when I saw these. The store owner told me they are good and they're selling well here in China. He didn't carry the VSD1S, so I gave these a shot. I went home and burned them according to the store owners recommendation of 50 or more hours. But, wow! Did it open up! They sounded incredible and basically out did all my IEM's! I heard details on these that I never heard since building my collection of IEM’s.

1. Good build quality

2. Details are extremely vivid and Analytical

3. Vocals are breath-taking and realistic (not forward or laidback)

4. Bass is quick, stable and clear. Incredible sub-bass (not boomy, nor bloated)

5. Good soundstage –you can hear the different instruments and distinguish them

6. Overall, extremely balanced!

They also have a special switch (the first I've ever seen) for converting the signal to whatever source you're using (or reverse polarity for MIC and ground wire). So, basically you can use it for professional audio monitoring or your smart phone for incoming/outgoing calls. Incredible concept by this company!

Take a look at some PIX!

Just keep in mind…..in sound alone they outperformed all my gems. But, in no means I’m saying the quality itself is better or there soundstage is the best.

But, this is where I was surprised by the Ivery IS-1 (Liberty 1’s).....

1. Quality: Actually, pretty good! Considering the price I paid for them and what you get; Tough plastic/alloy housing, good stable and quality wires (heat resistance TPE wires), MIC remote with the special converter switch (switch between any audio source and smart phones). A first, I think! Also, small and comfortable enough to please many people from different walks of life.

2. Sound: I don’t know the quality of diaphragm these IEM’s carry, but do know they’re 8mm in size and might be titanium (or titanium coated). But, the sound just blew me away! Best analytical and realistic sound I’ve heard, by far! Soundstage is good and the overall sound range is miraculous! They are mildly V shaped giving you just the right high notes, vocals, and sub-bass tones, when needed.

3. Price: This is a no brainer! In sound alone, I wonder if these will give IEM’s costing several hundred or more dollars a run for their money! And I’m saying a lot of money!

Ok. Now you know where I’m coming at when I’m saying…..in sound alone they outperformed all my gems.  I currently own and it put to shame all these models…..in no particular order, just off my head.

True story......

I was enjoying classical music through the Sennheiser HD800 at a local headphone shop during lunchtime and figured, hey? Why don't I try my Liberty 1's on this high-end AMP to see how good they sound amped-up! Never in the world did I think they would give the HD800 competition from my perspective. But, the sound was actually a little more vivid and sweeter! That was not my intention, by the way. But, I was actually starting to enjoy the Liberty 1's more! The violins and other instruments playing sounded more realistic to me. It actually sounded more vivid and precise. The store owner was also impressed. We kept switching back and forth and could not understand how these IEM's were keeping up with the Goliath of all headphones. I hope others in this forum receive theirs to give their second opinion. To me, I just didn't realize they were that good!

I still like all my IEM’s for their unique sound signatures, but these are currently my new number 1's.

Finally, if you decide to get them, please keep in mind to burn, burn, burn -at least 50-60 hours or more to get the audiophile quality signature it provides. So, make sure not to judge there sound right out the box.

-Also coming, soon!

Please look forward to Joker's review for quality, sound, and where these stand in his immensive ratings of IEM's!

....then hop over to -thatBeatsguy for a breakdown and initial thoughts on them, once he reviews them as well!

-Hope this gives you an idea where the Ivery IS-1 (Liberty 1's) stands!

.....almost forgot to mention, they also come in white.

  ;)

Yeah! We want real photos!

Also, I can't wait to receive them to get my initial impression in. I'm still in teh process of reviewing another IEM, though, so at least I have enough time to do that before I get too busy.

Oh yeah, 1clearhead, they're called the IS-1 Liberty, not the other way around. Calling it that would essentially make the brand name Liberty, even though that's their model name. Just a quick heads up. ;)

Now, Im crossing my fingers to see if they're up to the hype that we're seeing from you...can't wait!

Gosh! I think this is the best I can do. The camera on my computer is terrible and the one on my phone has a problem. So, I apologize for the lame pictures. I don't even come close in taking pictures like -thatBeatsguy. He's pretty good!

  Oh, well? I tried.

If you notice the first 2 pictures I actually tried some all black medium tips and swapped back to the original mediums. These IEM's are very tip friendly!

What's so funny is my Chinese friends call them Liberty 1's. It kind of grew on me after that.

I can't take the credit for the pictures, 1clearhead; I have horribly shaky hands. All the photography credit goes to my sis, who took all of the pics in all of my reviews. I do my best to give her sufficient credit in my reviews, but I never think it's enough. She's got real talent, while I gots nothing (read: zilch, nada, zero) in the photography field.

All I know is that these are my go to work, take a nap, lounge at home, take a break, go to sleep, walk the dog, cut the lawn, take a bath...no skip that!....to go earphones!

But seriously, the biggest problem I have now is listening to all my other IEM's that are not up to par with these. They sound pretty dull and commercial when compared to these.

I don't know if it's a good thing or a curse to have discovered these. That's why a second opinion would be obvious.

Hope everyone here gives their thoughts on these after receiving them.

Wow, great to hear! Especially, knowing that it wasn't too far off from the price I got it in China.

Oops! I shouldn't speak to much.....*whispering -the price hackers might listen and jack the price up.

OK, so the price hackers are on to us. Darn it!

But seriously speaking, I still think it's still an excellent buy!

I got mine for around $9 on eBay. They shouldn't be fake right? I'm skeptical of everything now after the Pistons thread.

So what are the best sources to buy these? Amazon? Ebay? Could you post some reliable resellers?

It seems the build quality is well......what you paid for.

There is a post that showed a headfier tried to replace the tips and ended up ripping the housing apart.

Or maybe its a QC issue?
