+1. Pull them IS-1 out from storage but not hearing what was describe on the Altone 2000 thread. I don't have the Altone but my IS-1 have roughly about 200 hours of burn and it sound nothing like the Altone. Or maybe I have a bad or fake one.

Yep, same thing with my replacement pair. The left ear started to cut out a few days in. Sent it in for a refund

Extremely annoyed, as the product was shipped to the wrong address, and took an additional week to get to me. Additionally, t-peos will not send out a replacement unit until my unit has been received in Korea and inspected.

Had the same issue with my replacement - posted a few weeks back about how to fix it yourself if you want to have a go. Its a fairly easy job, requires no special tools and leaves no damage on the unit.

I think there is a high change of qc for the is-1 because its so cheap, my pair is like 75% of the altone200 with no burn in and they require the same power to run😊

Mentioned this on the X5 thread but thought it should be noted here, as well. X5 -> E12 DIY -> Altone 200 is a damn fine combo! Bass impact and quantity, clarity, depth, soundstage are all very nice. Glad I made the purchase. Thanks to the early reviewers for bringing this IEM to my attention!

Sounds like a great combo! With all that power, do u find the treble ever becoming peaky or sibilant at safe listening volume levels?

A bit at first, but I acclimate after a short period. Then they just sound amazingly clear! I'm sure others might find it peaky, though. Depends on your tolerance level for T-PEOS high end...

EDIT: I should add that I typically listen around 60dB according to CanOpener dosimeter. I think Altone let me listen at lower volume and still get good clarity.

Recieved mine this Thursday. So far so good. I'm really gutted for those of you who've not only had dud pairs but broken replacements too. Not what we all want at all.
The sound however. Wow!
I was expecting a lot of corner-cutting due to the price but not in the slightest. These are deeply impressive IEM's.
Agree with initial reviews on the bass. Not overpowering or notably biased compared to the other frequencies but it's there, and with so much attack and precision with non of the annoying bass decay you get with others.
The mids/hi's tho are simply astounding.
Mids can compete with my Focal Spirit Classic cans and not get embarrassed. Ok, not the sheer quality or expansiveness but clarity and detail are immense!

I hope mine hold up and the bass free's up a little after some time.

(iPod-Fostex Hpp1. Mid Gain setting)

Ah okay thanks! I guess a bit if eq may also help to tame the treble a bit but also retain the clarity you mention.
