And if you still scratching your head, you could also be specific about your preferred SS/genre that you listen to most as this situation is being so tight call and will help the existing owners to recommend precisely.....

I would buy Altones for the current price or dunu too with their additional accessories with their extra cost,to Altones, IF both sounds equal, per brooko and hisoundfi.....but there might be a little tradeoff which I consider them negligible,if I have to choose the one among these two...as no gear is 100% match to other.

yea man, this is one heck of a tough decision to make.

I wish both had interchangable cables tho..

I normally listen to a variety of music ranging from Rock like INXS, Aerosmith, to Comtemp like John Newman, The Fray, to Jazz to Pop to Instrumental. I listen to most types of music EXCEPT for EDM, Techno, Trance, Dubstep etc...

I'd get the Altones, probably better suited to what you listen to (except maybe Aerosmith).

Thanks, I might actually do that.

Btw, I plan to get some foam or comply tips to match with the altones, but that might reduce the impact of the bass right? If so, then I might just stick to the original tips provided and forego getting any other tips

When you say so, it reminds me to listen steve's "Livin on the Edge" track on the Altones...to really hear how Altone sound.....tongue_smile.gif

when I saw this post and the ones before, I dug up my Aerosmith album. "Livin' on the Edge" actually sounds pretty good. I think Aerosmith songs can come across as a bit shouty and too bright for some songs but the slower ballads sound pretty good.

Received an email from T-Peos, they found the reason why some Altone are defective.

Apparently part of the internals is blocking an air intake inside the housing which causes the diaphragm not to vibrate.

Nice to hear that they solved it  Will get my replacement soon and thankfully shipping will be paid by T-Peos.

Well, I was hoping we could get a pin, cut the end off to blunt it then poke it through the air intake and move the cable (that's what's blocking it) but it doesn't work. Would of saved some time.

I use Comply tips and get plenty of bass.  Don't have any Aerosmith but I listened to Let It Bleed this morning (a 24 bit copy) and it had plenty of bass.

What did you play it off of?

Let me guess: ibasso DX50 >JDS C5>T-Peos Altone200

So in terms of sound, how different are these hybrids, which obviously substitute a dynamic driver for a BA, compared to the regular triple-BA IEMs?

It has been done...

Yes.  With 1.5.0 firmware (newest stock firmware for the DX50).  The C5 really adds quite a bit of oomph to the DX50.
