T-PEOS Altone200 - 3 - Way - Hybrid Discussion Thread.

Mine are fine.  Others have reported some issues at the connectors and/or some glue on the bodies that wipes off.  A couple of people reported what sounds like broken or misconnected bass drivers.  But they've sold quite a few already, based on the posts I see here, and it seems that less than 10 people have had issues.

aww man, im having a real trouble deciding between the altone200 and the dunu dn1000...

been reading so much on these two and yet i cant seem to decide. Tpeos would be 145USD whereas the Dunu will be 40-50USD more.

I really need some help here.

Well, I just gave my altone200 a final listen, then packed them to be shipped back to the manufacturer. It's a shame I have to as they seemed to finally be opening up. Tpeos says they will ship my replacement Friday. I hope they make it quick as what I was hearing with 25 hours of burn in was pretty epic .

I currently own a pair of brainwavz B2, was looking for an upgrade, the B2's bass was so very disappointing, but the detail and separation was amazing (it is my first pair of BAs)..

Both would be better in almost every aspect from my B2's right?

Yes absolutely

I had the B2 a long time ago - and like you, I also loved their mid range and clarity. Both the DN-1000 and Altone have similar clarity - but both have the bass presentation you're missing.  Either would be a good choice.

Just thought I'd add my impressions here after a few days of use now - I'm using the smallest monster foam supertips, as paired with the Altone200 I can get deep insertion and proper isolation - which vastly improves the bass over my initial impressions. Extension on both ends of the spectrum is very good, and it oozes clarity and detail effortlessly. Quite engaging, and amazing value for money.

Yeah these kind of decision making is worst than choosing a right partner from our very handful of girl friends...jk.

And if you still scratching your head, you could also be specific about your preferred SS/genre that you listen to most as this situation is being so tight call and will help the existing owners to recommend precisely.....

I would buy Altones for the current price or dunu too with their additional accessories with their extra cost,to Altones, IF both sounds equal, per brooko and hisoundfi.....but there might be a little tradeoff which I consider them negligible,if I have to choose the one among these two...as no gear is 100% match to other.

Dunu 1000 have a somewhat deeper (bass) overall sound, Altone's have a clearer sound with somewhat lest boom on the floor.  It depends on what you want to hear/what you listen to.  I loved my Dunus, but now I love my Altones.  The clarity and precise sound, the smoothness, is wonderful.  Now the Dunus sound muddy to me.  Either way you can't go wrong.

As for the BE comparisons, the GR07 driver does a very fast bass so even it the Altone offers more quantity, the GR07 BE will probably have more impact, creating the impression of more bass. This is just a guess as i haven't listened to the Altone.

This right here is how wars should be fought... Hehehe.

Because the driver is fast, it has a harder edged climax to its thump. Meaning even if the Altone had more bass but was slower, the softer edge of its climax would give it a lesser impression of impact? The difference between taking a jab to the chest by a slow guy with more weight and fluffy gloves compared to Bruce Lee with less weight and thin padded gloves sensation wise? Well, tha'a'be the last sensation ya feel with good'ol Bruce on shooting board... HEHEHEHE.

WhA U Say Hombre? I no sure Falla u mang. Hehehe.

Having a defective pair here with me I can understand how it can be confusing so don't worry. You kind of think er... um... derp derp maybe it's ok. But when I switch over to the other two pairs here it becomes completely obvious. Good luck.

I think the more I listen the more I would lean towards using the word stuffed as you have. I hear thump and rumble with music that a has good quantity of it. However, when I compare it to my BE, stuffed is a word I think I would use. Yet, it still sounds quite tight.

It's also noteworthy to once again mention they sound quite clear at normal listening volume mid-to-highs. I was still looking forward to borrowing my nieces KC06 but it's starting to look like I'm dead to her, even tho this dead guy is texting.... Hehehe.

I swear I'm not on drugs... yet.

The lemon units sound kind of like someone dropped the EQ down right across the bass to me.

The correct pairs I have here atm kick ass,  Listening to this track atm tears the house down.

Problem is I like listening to them loud (clarity gluten) and get fatigued.  I don't know about everyone else pairs but these ones go super loud without distortion straight from Sansa Clip, the bass is deep, fast / well separated from the mids.  Laying down last night at 3am in the pitch black dark was like being at a live concert.

And yes I'm playing this video back to back...
