With the three headphones I tried with it, I'd say it's very transparent and detailed with great PRaT. It did not seem to impose any sound signature to whatever I plugged into it. The D100 is an already solid performer, for the MHA100 you get more control over the output impedance and 50W speaker taps. And those gorgeous power meters.

IIRC they were D5Ks.

My meet impressions:

Schiit amps with the Uber Bifrost : This time I really like their line up, I tested the Valhalla 2 and Lyr 2 with the HD800s. The Valhalla 2 for its price has no major flaws and is one of the few amps that I really enjoyed with the HD800, the Lyr though was slightly aggressive sounding but resolves bass tighter than the Valhalla, I could imagine these characteristics would go really well with Ortho bass. Really had fun and took up a bunch of time trying them out.

Oppo: Their DAC/preamp/headphone amp imho(YMMV) did well with the HD800, resolves cleanly and to me, probably beats Senn in its own game. The headphone though I feel, though a first attempt, was not very refined. I look forward to trying modded pairs. Unfortunately at the time I was auditioning, the meet got a little noisy so I could not get a firm grasp on its character. Will be looking forward to try it again.

Victor's Grados: at head-fier Victor's table, there were very interesting modded headphones going along. 3D-printed cups with various Grado styled headphones and Turbulent-X drivers are too interesting. I bought of some parts of him for my WM-61a mic-pre so this meet was really a pleasure for me to attend(save me an afternoon or 2 on parts hunting :#)

Totally unrelated I regret missing out on the Mcintosh amps, damn me!

I look forward to the next meet and hopefully I'm bringing something special :3

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, those blue meters!

How about that HXD, does it makes the sounds improvement from the D100 or it just a marketing gimmick?

To be honest I wasn't sure HXD was enabled when I was listening, and I didn't play around with it. Sorry I can't help you there.

There was a silver Geek Out. Impressions?

I'll bet that would be the paradise for any member HIFI. At least you've had the chance to demo a lot of equipment.

It was well publicised in Hardwarezone Forum, Lowyat Net, over here, by words of mouth of local headfiers and some fliers at the local headphone shops.

The Denon is D2K modded with D5K cup and LA mod (with the Angle pad too). :D

That was my first time trying some great stuffs in a whole system so I just overwhelmed with everything. Thanks to everyone.

I impressed with the HD800 with iPurifier - iGemini - Resonessence Concero DAC - iTube - HDVD800. I think it is just flawless. With the the Matrix M-stage - Little Dot mk viii SE the HD800 become more relaxed sounding compare to above system.

Dynalo amp is great (also trying this amp with the FAD PH6) it is a step up (maybe because I was comparing to my portable ALO National amp :D).

Audio Technica AD2000 is opened up with the Dynalo amp.

Sony MDR-CD900ST is a nice portable which reminds me of MDR-7506 on the look itself but not on the sound. I found the CD900ST better somehow (compare to my hazy memory of MDR-7506).

IIRC Ultrasone and KEF M500 share similarity (I tested with Fiio X3-Alo National) of having a nice mid and bass but not so much on the treble/high freq (compare to P7). Maybe I'm wrong/mistaken, the world cup eats up my memory.

First time tried the TMA-1 modded (IIRC), this small can has soundstage which is surprised me (compare to DT1350).

Cord Hugo can drive the LCD-XC but somehow I prefer with using it the AT-HA22Tube project. IIRC Hugo has enough power and bring much detail on LCD-XC but the tube sounds more sweet to my ear, it is not as detail as Hugo but I would say enough to enjoy the music for me.

Tested the Alpha Dog vs Oppo PM1, surprisingly I prefer the Alpha Dog. I'm a bit skeptical about the review on alpha dog but it is just like everybody mentioned, really an upgraded compare to mad dog.

maybe more can be done to inform us of a meet? Like announce it on head-fi itself? Cos i visit the head-fi site almost everyday and there was no word on this. What makes this a real bummer is that i was around Scape on 22nd June.

They could..... but tbh it was already pretty packed as it was. Perhaps when there is a larger venue with much more seats and products? If they posted on head fi, A LOT of people would come.... I doubt the 2 rooms would have been big enough for everybody

There is a section

http://www.head-fi.org/f/24/local-regional-head-fi-meets-parties-get-togethers

And we posted at the correct place... But apparently that's not a very popular section
