Best headphones under $200 - Page 3

The koss prodj100 with m50 pads supposedly sound very similar to the shure srh840. Mids are the koss's strength. If you want to cheap out a bit, this would be a good pick. The only problem is isolation. Its just average.

There is a little soundstage mod in the asian headphone thread by the way for the dolphins.
If you want something more fun sounding get the dolphins. If you want something with slightly laid back highs amd forward mids, the koss would be better. If you want something cheaper, these would be good options. They may not be the best under $200 though. The dolphin has a lot better isolation according to the asian headphone thread

Well then, I wonder but, for future references, What would be the best headphones with the best audio quality with or without an amp running on an ipod? I am not saying there is an ultimate best b/c many people have different tastes but could you guys leave like a few options? Now that I have headphones that fit my style+sound category for more social outings, whats would be the best headphone (in your guy's opinion) under two-hundred dollars regardless of the looks. Just based purely on sound. Thanks

Honestly I think your going to find the UE 6000 to work very well for you, and if your serious about audio I'd suggest getting an amp for you iPod as the DAC chips in the iDevices are just fine, the amps how ever are a touch sub par

BUT if you'd like to stick purely with your iPod and no amp, the AKG K812 has been said to be very forgiving with low end gear! It retains it's hi quality sound even out of something like an iPod :3
