Trying to buy Audio Technica AD700s. Where should I look or where should I ask?

Hi, everyone,

I'm trying to find where to buy ATH-AD700s.  I've searched around (Amazon, Newegg, etc.) but have not had much luck.  All I've found are the AD700Xs, which I'm pretty sure are not the same (and have not heard so much about them so I would assume not as good) as the AD700s.

What would be your recommendations about this?

Thanks!

The AD700X is an update to the AD700 and is the latest model. I think there's slight difference in tuning, warmer and more musical but still airy. Slightly more bass. Maybe do some more research and see if it's worth your trouble trying to find an old model and go from there.

Interesting.  I've been reading reviews in several places and it seems like the build quality has suffered.  Any thoughts or impressions about this?

The only thing I can find is that someone said that the pads were of poorer quality and that's it but more mids.
Used might be your best bet. Try searching the for sale threads here. Or see if you can post a Wanted listing for them. Someone might respond.

Cool.  I'll keep looking, as I'm really into the AD-700s, but hearing this I feel better about the AD-700Xs in case I don't find any.  Thanks a lot!

just noticed I linked the A700, closed, instead of the AD700, open. So don't mind that post
