Greetings from South Texas!

Hello, everyone.

New member here who just wanted to introduce himself and say thanks for the help you've already provided. After a few months of lurking I've finally decided to register on the forums and partake in the discussion.

Late last year I decided after breaking countless budget headphones It was time to stop throwing money away on things that broke or were unsatisfactory and just invest in some quality gear. I found last year's gift guide and off I was!

Thus far I've had the pleasure of using some great pieces of kit from Schiit, ALO Audio, AKG, Thinksound, and now iBasso.

Now, if you'll excuse me I have a couple of hundred posts to read over on the DX90 thread. *face-palms

Yup. I'm trying to save up my money so I can buy a set of Texas-sized cans, like the LCD-3.

You go right for the gold--and you'll need a lot of it!

Oh yeah. Lots!

I'm in a little bit of a bind too. I've realized that the headphones I am using now, a pair of On-1's, are starting to become very uncomfortable when I wear them.

It's tragic because they sound great and I love most things about them. I think I might just not be an on-ear kind of guy. I'm thinking over-ear or uiem's next since I want something soon.

Steven Wilson's new album drops in a few days and I want something that'll do him justice.

What headphones are y'all using right now?

Hd700 and he-400 are my go to headphones

Awesome! I'll look those up.

I don't honestly think the hd700 is worth it's msrp, and the he-400, IMO, outperforms it's current price.

I'm actually using Saoshyant's HD598's :beerchug: until my LCD-2.2F's come back sometime this week. You can see all my current gear in my signature/profile.

Yeah. Those Senns are pretty pricey. I'd rather just save up a bit more and get a set of LCD-2's.

I am considering the HE-400's, but am at school all day.

They're probably not the best for listening away from home. Would you guys lug 'em around?

I listen primarily through a DX90, and sometimes through an ALO Key+National hooked up to a mac.

I like portability and the simplicity of a stand alone player like the DX90 but I'm not opposed to carrying a big set of cans if the sound is good enough.

Man, those 598's look good and they're relatively inexpensive. They might just fit the bill.

Are you worried about sound isolation?

I'd like to say no, but I am a little worried.

And of course if sound is coming in, then it's also going out and I don't want to bother those around me with my head-fi.
