The thing is there really is no way to convert a DAC into a wireless one, as those wireless DACs use a proprietary USB device to send out the signal and a proprietary receiver. Why would you need to switch between the iPhone and the Macbook anyway, when the latter has more storage on top of being able to browse other content? I mean, I used to use my laptop too, but I needed something more focused (I just want to listen, not browse the net nor waste a 90watt PSU or the charge on a 5500mAh battery) so I got a dock and used my Samsung S3, but I no longer use the laptop (and just switch out the contents on my 64gb microSD card from time to time).

If for example one reason why you need it wireless is because you're using speakers then there's a way to get around that with those two: set the laptop next to the DAC and all other audio electronics, then set-up a remote app on the smartphone.

Not if his device, as stated in the first post, is a USB (only) DAC, and he doesn't want to change it. Well, he'd have to either way, but I'd still go for this device over the NuForce AirDAC. The iTX transmitter only uses the 30-pin line out, and there isn't yet a lightning-compatible one anyway (not unless the CCK works with the uTX transmitter).
