Any of Ya'll have any experience with Norne Vanquix HP Cable? Thinking of adding those to the Alpha Dogs, perhaps next month, this month's audio budget is gone with the wind.

Nope, haven't used the Vanquix cable, but I've picked up a few other cables and odds-'n-ends from Travis, and have always been exceptionally pleased with the craftsmanship and excellent customer service he's shown me. Don't know how much I believe in cables (I think I do, actually, but just a veeeeeeeeeeeeery teeny bit), but I think his stuff is worth buying for the looks and quality alone.

I realize that none of my post is really in any way related to your question about the Vanquix cable, but, uh... I like to talk a lot. Ahem.

I like to talk too, guess we will have set up a timing system in September 😙. Since Jay has owned and sold/traded just about everything I am interested in I thought he may be able to elucidate on the subject of Norne/ Vanquix (I launched an Valium Auto-Injector named Vanquix for break through seizures and PTSD/panic disorder, hopefully I won't get the two confused!😎).

Theogenes is there a hotel near the meet site you recommend?

Ha! I think our timing system will just be "all the time."

Honestly, I haven't stayed at a hotel there in many years, as I have friends and family I always stay with when I come to the area. The hotel itself is kind of run-down looking from the outside, but the conference room is actually pretty nice, so I don't know if the rooms will be sharp there or not. Skyline315 might be able to provide a little more useful feedback...

mattTCG, just got a cable for his hd800, and said its very impressive , and thats referring to the build quality, and how it looks,

he got it balanced , and he doesn't have a balanced amp yet, it'll be a couple of weeks before he gets one

i know the next one i get, will be from norne , which is a new name, they used to be norse audio, they just changed the name recently

Strongly suggest hitting Hotwire for motel rooms in the Franklin area and pick the price range you want.  This area of Nashville is nice, hard to go wrong, and a whole lot cheaper than downtown Nashville.

^ I will be a "Guest" at Vandy Hospital the 24th-28th, having my hip replaced again, my Wife has started calling me Pinocchio (she is European so she doesn't know the 6Million Dollar Man😋). As far as Franklin Hotels, it depends on if Maryna and our Daughter are coming, if not, any old motel will do.

On an HP note, listening to Lyle Lovett, Live From Texas, it sounds stupid good with the AD/Lyr 2 combo, I am hearing things I forgot were here, hmmm ummm good!!!!

@jaywillin: I'm guessing that you'll have a better idea what other headphone to pick up once the TTVJ GS1Ke makes it your way ;).

@RUMAY408: Good call, thanks for the heads-up!!

@Wildcatsare1: That sucks, man!! Hope everything goes okay!! And I hope the family can come too-- I've got my mom and sister coming, and I love having family around for the stuff you love doing, so I'm 100% with you on that one ;).

And it sounds like the Lyr 2 might live up to the hype! Which is bad... I literally JUST sold my first-gen Lyr, and I'm trying to steer clear of tubes for a while... Dang it, man ;)

Ha!! Honestly, I'm really trying to convince myself not to take the leap on the GS1Ke prior to more reviews coming out, as it's still a bit of a gamble in my mind (and I don't need to spend the darn money, lol). And if you have one, I'll just give it a listen in Nashville anyway!! :p

well, here's my reasoning , i've had the first, original model, i've had the second, improved model

i feel pretty sure its not going to sound worse !

^^^Theogenes and Jay, lookn' forward to seeing Ya'll in Nashville! I do love my Lyr 2, it is so quiet and with the right tubes increadiably musical, a great match for my AD's and apparently they sound great with the new 560's. I probably will only be able to get my Wife and Daughter to the meet briefly, if at all, they prefer shopping 😰!

The hip is not so bad, I am glad to be mobile, heck a once they do my knee, and the hip stays in socket, I may suit up! LOL!!!!

^Jay, that avascular necrosis thing was a drag, but I am fightn' back......

I will bring my Lyr 2 and a couple sets of tubes, so those that don't know the pleasure of rolling your own can give it a try.

Todd gave me a really good deal on my PSB M4U1's, when/if I get the 560 I will get them from TTVJ.

Cannot wait to listen to the GS1000e's, Jay, what are you going to use to amp them?
