Are there defining traits that set the planar magnetic drivers apart from normal drivers in sound characteristic? I understand how they work but I don't know how this affects sound character.
What characteristics are associated with planar magnetic drivers as opposed to the normal ones?

In short, Planars tend to have a thicker warmer sound and better bass overall. With less sound stage width, but more depth
