A few thoughts on ATH-M50X

I am a newbie to the world of audiophiles. The most expensive pair of phones I had was a Jabra BT-620s to my ears then I thought they were great. I've had them for 6 years and they have served me well. Then I came across Monoprice 8320 and read all the rave reviews of them. Apart from the flimsy cord I find them to do the job very well. This brings me to my latest purchase Audio Technica ATH-M50X . This is day 3 of using them and I am very impressed with how they sound. I always thought I was a bass head but after listening to m50 I've begun to understand my ears  and muscial sensibilities better. The bass on these cans seem more than enough for me, however the mids seem to be recessed, I felt the Monoprice 8320 handles them better than the m50-x. Amy winehouse - fade to black was the song i listened on both phones. Has anyone done a comparison on this between the 2? I've also wondered if there is a way to make the mids sound better on the m50's .

Hello,

The if you have EQ settings, try boosting somewhere near 1kHz, that where I find my friend's ATH-M50 midrange to be lacking at if I remember correctly but I could be wrong.

There's no real way of boosting the midrange other than EQ. It's free and much simple IMO

Hope it helps!
