I have been considering getting myself a good pair of noise-cancelling headphones for a while now. More specifically I have been looking in the $300 - $400 range of headphones that will last me for the years to come.
As far as my music genre of choice goes I mainly listen to Electronic, Dance and club music however I am not wanting to get a pair of headphones that are not genre specific as sometimes I do enjoy a range of world music as well as movies. In terms of source I will be mostly listening to music from my MacBook Pro or iPhone / iPod.
I have been reading through hundreds of reviews and discussions on the matter and have come down to 2 pairs of headphones 1) Bose QC15 and the 2) PSB M4U 2 headphones and quite frankly I am leaning toward the PSBs. Most of the reviews of these headphones discuss that if you are looking for the best NC then go for the Bose, however if it is sound quality is paramount go for the PSBs. I also like the idea that the PSBs can be used in 3 modes (Passive, Active and Active NC).
What I am wanting to know is should I be considering any other headphones seriously? I see a wealth of other headphones mentioned here and there but never any as much as the Bose and PSBs. I'd be interested in any other headphone models out there (especially AKG and Shure as the company I work for can get good deals on these - hahaha but this is by no means a be all and end all).
One last note, I am by no means an Audiophile and am definitely a Newbie, however I'd rather invest more money in a great set of headphones that will last me a long time and that are truly great.
Thanks in advance for the advice!
