I have until the 29th to return it so I am trying to find another amp/dac to buy before then.

I am looking for one under $200. I also have to purchase it from amazon.

+1 for the Schiit Magni/Modi combo. Can't be beat at that price.

Will edit my post now.

Do you mean in one unit?

These stack on top of each other…the Magni (amp)/Modi (dac) combo.

Aune T1 fits your budget.

Sorry, can't help you with that…only have experience with this combo and the Little Dot 1+ amp for desktop rigs.

This combo is very small though.

So I just connect them together with these and it's ready to go?: http://www.amazon.com/PYST-RCA-Cables-6-inches/dp/B00CICPTHC/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_z

I enjoy it with my MBP very much.

And the price is nice too.

Thats not what I see.

  • Magni is the only fully discrete headphone amp under $100 that is made in the USA.
  • Delivering 1.2W of power into 32 ohms, Magni is ready for virtually any headphone-including many hard-to-drive orthodynamic models.
  • It uses a discrete gain stage design, with low-noise JFET inputs, fast VAS transistors, and massive output power transistors.
