Require your advise: Balanced vs Unbalanced?

Hello all,

Recently I am trying to learn some audio recording and my friend gave me his audio recording interface: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2.

Noticed that the 2i2 is running balanced audio output which requires: TRS 1/4 inch; Powered studio monitors.

I am currently using Audioengine D1 DAC with the A5+ speakers on my computer. They are actually unbalanced audio with RCA input/output.

Would it be wise to buy a set of balance studio monitors instead of using the Audioengine. My brother could make use of those Audioengine if I replace them.

I am looking forward to buying the Yamaha HS5 and hook up with the Scarlett 2i2.

My questions are:

1. Would those HS5 make a difference than the Audioengine? I am normal using them for musics and games.

2. I know that the balanced audio has less interference but in terms of sound quality, would there be a difference?

3. How are the Yamaha HS5 vs Audioengine A5+? I know they are different types of speakers and used for probably different purpose.

I apologized for my limited knowledge in the audio field. I am pretty much knowing nothing and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

KH

Does anyone able to help or give some thoughts?

From what I've heard the HS5 have a not so nice bump at about 900hz, the HS8 are miles better. They are also a lot more expensive though.

Thanks for your input. I think my D1 is slightly better in terms of music quality. I will stick with my A5+ for the moment.
